LIGHTWEIGHT, DURABLE AND EASILY TRANSPORTABLE AS HAND LUGGAGE

The AVET PAR, PER and AER portable evidential recorders have been designed with portability as one of the main criteria. The PAR audio-only recorder has a 200mm square footprint and weighs less than 2kg whilst the PER Pro portable kit including cameras, bag, microphone and the main PER unit weighs less than 3kg and is easily carried as hand luggage. The AER is smaller still at just 140mm square and weights just 1.3kg


All units have evidential integrity designed in from the start. They protect the interview process, supporting investigators to implement best interview practice.  At the same time, they are designed to be practicable - lightweight, easily transportable, quick to setup, simple to operate and reliable to use, plus, let us not forget, highly affordable too.

Value

AVET products are designed to not let you down. If things do occasionally go wrong we have employed protocols that safeguard the interview. For example, in the event of a drive or disk failure the internal storage continues to record the interview, without affecting the evidential integrity, so that the recording can be recovered later. In the event of a local power failure, the internal batteries will continue to record the interview so that the interview process can be concluded properly. All this has been done within a framework that ensures AVET products are highly cost-effective, configurable and reliable.

Challenge

When designing the new AVET recorders our design team faced numerous challenges, how could we create secure, protected , portable, hard wearing and cost effective solutions that could be configured to meet with international judicial best practice. The answer was to start at the beginning designing our own enclosures, printed circuit boards and software. So our PAR, PER and AER recorders are not dependent on third party manufacturers and we can rapidly install updates.  Our modern design caters for our customers' requirements today and we also future proof our products to be configured with any new technical developments we subsequently introduce.
